    VM 01 | ‹ Bolero Transparente › by Rubén D’Hers
Closing chords of potential songs one a er the other, for acoustic guitar and a loudspeaker in a room. The pieces are constructed out of the transition from one open tuning to another and are inspired by Bolero songs from the 1970s. Recorded in the artist’s studio in Berlin. Mixed by Ludwig Berger, mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi.

about

Inumaki tree (Podocarpus macrophyllus) recorded with a contact microphone during strong wind in the forest of Esuzaki Island, Wakayama, Japan on June 14, 2018, from 2 to 3 p.m. The unedited and unprocessed recording was reintroduced to the acoustics of the forest.

“Near infinite yet utterly microscopic changes abound. A fascinating listen" (Daniel Alexander Hignell-Tully, Toneshift)
"These sounds show strange and unexpected folds, almost natural harmonics that are unpredictable and elusive” (Davide Ingrosso, The New Noise)
"It's a challenging piece but one I found strangely absorbing. Little occurs but something about what I take to be the natural rhythm of the interaction between wind and tree, I found compelling." (Brian Olewnick, Just Outside)

Ludwig Berger is a sound artist and composer based in Milano and Zurich. He creates sound pieces, installations, walks and urban interventions in the intersection of sound, ecology and architecture. He is sound researcher at the Institute of Landscape Architecture at ETH Zurich. | ludwigberger.com
